Hyde Park – Sydney

The effect the sound of running water has on the psyche is truly profound. And I’m not talking about swirling water in the toilet bowl or a dripping tap. I’m talking about the calming flow of a fountain or a stream which, in my opinion, speaks to the soul. This is why it’s so nice to see it at work in the place where people are most flustered by life’s obligations – the city. Admittedly here, one could mistake it for a burst water hydrant but I can assure you, the chap drinking his coffee was looking too ‘zen’ for that to be the case.
